Consumer Rights in Saudi Arabia: Warranty, Returns and Online Shopping

Consumers in Saudi Arabia are protected by a set of laws and rules issued by the Ministry of Commerce, most importantly the E-Commerce Law, the Anti-Commercial Fraud Law, and the rules on warranty, exchange and price display. Buying from online shops

  • The shop must state its identity, address and registration, and describe the product and its full price including shipping.
  • You may cancel the contract within seven days of receiving the product if you have not used it, unless it is an exempt case such as made-to-order goods.
  • If delivery is late beyond the legal period, you may cancel and get your money back.
  • Keep screenshots of the advert, the product page and the confirmation messages.

How to claim your right

  2. If refused, file a complaint with the Ministry of Commerce. Read Ministry of Commerce complaints.
  3. If the loss is large or there is fraud, you may need a claim or a criminal report. Read fraud and scams.
